What is the history of candles?
Early Chinese candles are said to have been molded in paper tubes, using rolled rice paper for the wick, and wax from an indigenous insect that was combined with seeds. In Japan, candles were made of wax extracted from tree nuts, while in India, candle wax was made by boiling the fruit of the cinnamon tree.

What should I know about candles?
A candle is made up of a wick and wax. You need the wick to light up your “candle” and control the size of the flame. Most candles nowadays are made from paraffin wax because it is cheaper but they're also commonly made of other more eco-friendly products like beeswax, soy wax, or palm wax.

What is the importance of candles?
Burning candles can greatly help you to fight stress and anxiety. Candles have calming properties. This is twofold, as the flickering light makes you feel calmer as the ambiance is more tranquil, and the particular scent the candle emits also helps to relax you.
